Hairloss Facts:

Hair loss is a prevalent condition affecting both men and women across various age groups. In the US, it affects 50 million men and 30 million women, according to the American Hair Loss Association. While it often becomes more common with age, genetic factors, such as androgenetic alopecia, play a significant role. Additionally, hormonal changes, medical conditions, certain medications, poor nutrition, and stress can contribute to hair loss. It's essential to recognize that there is no one-size-fits-all solution for hair loss. Treatment options vary based on the underlying causes, and what works for one individual may not be effective for another. Emphasizing overall hair health through a balanced lifestyle and proper care is essential. Coping with the emotional impact of hair loss is also vital, and individuals are encouraged to seek support from healthcare professionals, support groups, or counseling to navigate this common but often challenging condition.

Comprehensive Functional Medicine Evaluation-  to evaluate overall health conditions to identify nutrient deficiencies, gut health imbalances, sources of inflammation, stress, and underpinning to chronic diseases and set up a personalized plan to rebalance and optimize your hair, health, and well-being for the long term. The purpose is to teach you to take charge!

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP)- a very safe, effective, and natural way to promote hair growth. Using the body’s own liquid gold to promote hair growth. PRP in numerous studies, is found to be highly effective, however, PRP is not approved for the specific purpose of hair restoration by the FDA. At FSIM, we use the Eclipse PRP system, which is an FDA-approved device. Hair restoration using PRP is a minimally invasive procedure and has become a popular alternative to hair transplants in both women and men. Dr. Staid loves using PRP because it is derived from the patient’s blood and has no chemicals added, reducing the likelihood of complications.

Topical Therapies- there are many topical therapies on the market. One of the best-known is OTC minoxidil (Rogaine), which is FDA-approved for hair loss. They also use non-pharmaceutical topical serums and foams to enhance hair growth. At FSIM, we use peptides (small protein messengers) that may enhance hair growth.

Nutrient Supplements- Nutrient deficiencies and insufficiencies are well-known causes of hair loss. At FSIM, we determine your personal needs and treat you with pharmaceutical-grade supplements to get the best results. IV and IM nutrient therapies can be a game-changing solution for people who are very deficient since they increase their levels quickly. Additionally, specific strains of probiotics can also play an important role in optimizing hair growth.

Theradome Laser helmet- an FDA-approved wearable laser helmet treatment device for hair regrowth. Theradome’s targeted lasers deliver a precise dose of energy to hair follicles and bio-stimulating mitochondria (the “power plants” of cells) to stabilize hair loss, thicken hair, and start hair regrowth. The optimized laser wavelength (680 nm) is ideal for clinical strength hair growth therapy. The time required is only two 20-minute sessions per week.

Stress Reduction Therapies- Stress can be a significant contributor to hair loss in some people. In others, having hair loss can be very stressful and diminish a person’s self-confidence and self-esteem. Stress management is critical to enhancing their long-term hair restoration success. We offer multiple different modalities to help patients manage and reduce their stress, anxiety, depression, and trauma. Some therapies we offer include neuro-emotional technique (NET), cognitive behavioral therapy, couples counseling, mindfulness-based stress reduction (group or individual classes), and heart-math biofeedback.
