Changes in hormones, blood flow, pelvic health, childbirth, menopause, stress, and aging can all affect intimacy and comfort.

GAINSWave® for Her uses focused acoustic shockwave therapy to support circulation and healthy tissue function. It is non-invasive, drug-free, and requires little to no downtime.

GAINSWave® for Her may be considered for women experiencing:

  • Reduced sensitivity

  • Changes in arousal

  • Difficulty reaching orgasm

  • Vaginal or vulvar dryness

  • Pain with intercourse

  • Urinary leakage

  • Urinary urgency or frequency

  • Changes related to perimenopause or menopause

  • Selected pelvic pain conditions such as interstitial cystitis

How Can It Help?

Healthy sexual function depends in part on good blood flow and healthy tissue.

Focused shockwave therapy creates a gentle mechanical signal in the tissue. This may help improve circulation, support small blood vessel growth, and activate natural repair pathways.

The goal is to support healthier tissue function over time.

Pain With Intercourse

Pain with sex can have many causes, including hormonal changes, pelvic floor dysfunction, vulvodynia, vestibulodynia, scar tissue, inflammation, and menopause. GAINSWave® may be one part of treatment, but we first evaluate why the pain is happening. Depending on the cause, treatment may also include hormone therapy, pelvic floor therapy, acupuncture, topical treatment, nutrition, or other medical care.

Urinary Symptoms

Shockwave therapy has also been studied for urinary concerns such as stress incontinence, urgency, frequency, and overactive bladder symptoms. GAINSWave’s clinical study library includes research in stress urinary incontinence, overactive bladder, vulvodynia, and interstitial cystitis/bladder pain syndrome. Not every urinary symptom should be treated with shockwave therapy, so evaluation comes first.

Perimenopause & Menopause

Lower estrogen levels can affect the vagina, vulva, bladder, blood vessels, nerves, and pelvic tissues. Women may notice: Dryness Reduced sensation Painful intercourse Lower sexual response Urinary urgency Urinary leakage For some women, hormone therapy may be the most important treatment. For others, GAINSWave®, pelvic floor therapy, acupuncture, or a combination may be helpful.
